Read and Reflect

In the halls of Kunsthalle Bern, both artists and writers challenge modern structures of sexism, racism, and classism, and the ways in which these systems continue to violently target marginalized communities. In Jesmyn Ward's Sing, Unburied, Sing, the reader joins a family road trip to the Mississippi State Penitentiary, bearing witness to the violently manufactured systems of poverty, addiction, and disparity over multiple generations.

Join us in an individual reading followed by a guided group conversation of this poignant novel, while surrounded by the moving exhibition Ein Tropfen Milch – A Drop of Milk by Daniela Ortiz.

The event is included in the admission price. The conversation will be held in English and German.

This is a collaboration between Journey Coffee & Books and Kunsthalle Bern.
